On the afternoon of September 12th, shortly after the high-level leadership delegation from Đà Nẵng landed at Sydney Airport, VATIP organized a visit to Western Sydney Airport—the city’s second airport. The visit and working session were also attended by the Consul General of Vietnam in Sydney, Mr. Nguyễn Đăng Thắng.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by the airport management team, who provided an overview of the project and a tour of the ongoing construction site.
Western Sydney Airport, expected to be completed by 2025 and officially operational by late 2026, is a key transportation infrastructure project aimed at expanding international connectivity for New South Wales.
This visit by Đà Nẵng’s leadership aimed to promote the establishment of a direct flight route from Đà Nẵng to Western Sydney, fostering tourism and trade between Đà Nẵng and New South Wales, and Australia as a whole.
During the meeting, both sides expressed strong agreement on launching a direct flight route once the airport opens in 2026, demonstrating their commitment to long-term cooperation and strengthening relations between the two regions.
