Yesterday, on July 16th, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council – Mr. Phan Van Thang led a senior delegation from Donng Thap province to visit and work with the Vietnamese Business Association in Sydney. Also attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Dang Thang, Consul General of Vietnam in Sydney, and representatives from the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia.
Representing VATIP, Mr. Harry Tran, in his role as Vice Chairman responsible for External Relations and Trade Promotion of the Vietnamese Business Association in Sydney, provided support and welcomed the Dong Thap provincial leadership delegation.
Deputy Secretary Phan Van Thang provided an overview of Dong Thap province and discussed its cooperation needs during the meeting:
- Advanced training to enhance the quality of human resources.
- Supply of high-quality human resources for the Australian labor market.
- Export strengths: Dong Thap province excels in rice, tra fish, ornamental plants, bonsai, and lotus flowers. It benefits from industrial clusters and industrial zones connected via waterways, serving the Cambodian market.
- Training collaboration: Dong Thap province’s College of Medicine desires to collaborate with Australian educational institutions to focus on training human resources in the medical field.
Through these discussions, the Dong Thap provincial leadership delegation invited the leadership of the Vietnamese Business Association in Sydney and Australian businesses to visit and collaborate with the province at the earliest opportunity, aiming to enhance relations between the province and the Australian market.
On the side of the Vietnamese Business Association in Sydney, the delegation included Mr. Nguyen Minh Hoan, the President of the Association, and Mr. Tran Dang Hue (Harry Tran), Vice President in charge of External Relations and Trade Promotion of the Association, alongside other members. On behalf of the Association, the President reported to the Dong Thap provincial leadership delegation about an overview of the Association, its activities, and its international engagements in welcoming delegations of businesses from various provinces and cities seeking opportunities in the Australian market. He also highlighted the Association’s role in connecting the Australian business community with the business community in Vietnam.
